Meet the Team

The dedicated professionals behind Resonant.

Radiologists

Dr Gaya Jiang

Radiologist

Gaya is the compassionate, sensitive side of the radiologist duo.

Originally from The Seychelles, she did medicine as an international scholarship student through the University of Otago in Christchurch, New Zealand. Internship and residency years in Australia followed by radiology training which she commenced at The Canberra Hospital and finished at Christchurch Hospital.

Advanced training in paediatric radiology through Westmead Children’s Hospital, breast radiology through Breastscreen Liverpool and a longstanding interest in obstetrics and gynaecology completed her subspecialist skillset.

Gaya’s priority is always the patient journey and ensuring highest care possible. In a world of emerging corporate healthcare and the associated pressures of throughput and profitability, Gaya refuses to compromise on care.

A local need for specialised women’s imaging was the stimulus for Gaya creating Resonant Medical Imaging. She has personal experience with breast cancer and understands the uncertainties women face when confronted with this diagnosis. She has a genuinely compassionate approach and this is reflected in her comforting rapport and careful biopsy technique.

Dr Damian Jiang

Radiologist

Damian is the unceremonious, practical side of the radiologist duo.

Born in Bowral Hospital and raised locally in the formerly snowy winters of the Southern Highlands, he left to study medicine at the University of Otago in Christchurch, New Zealand. He dutifully followed Gaya to Australia for internship and residency years before yearning for a return to New Zealand and convincing her to return to Christchurch for radiology training.

Advanced training in MRI through Christchurch Radiology Group with a focus on musculoskeletal imaging followed by a fellowship in oncologic imaging through Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. This combination of training makes him most comfortable with big magnets, while also giving him an interest in how other modalities can ultimately lead to, or avert, a diagnosis in an MRI scanner.

You’ll find Damian at Resonant Medical Imaging diagnosing, injecting and biopsying the less delicate health problems women and men face. He also spends time writing profiles for selected staff.

He enjoys and encourages collaboration with other health professions but doesn’t think a 10 second review of complex imaging over a phone call without warning serves patients well.

Sonographers

Lauren

Sonographer

Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science in 2011 and worked as a radiographer before completing a Masters in Medical Sonography in 2016. She values ultrasound as a versatile diagnostic tool and has enjoyed developing experience across its many applications over the years.

Her special interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound and obstetrics and gynaecology, with endometriosis imaging being a particularly exciting and important area of practice for improving outcomes for women.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Stephen and their three daughters. They have lived in the Highlands for 10 years and consider it a wonderful place to raise a family. She enjoys gardening, visiting the beach when possible, and staying active — with Pilates being one of her greatest loves.

Louise

Sonographer

Louise is an experienced sonographer with five years of tertiary-level obstetrics and gynaecology training, and more than twenty years in general ultrasound. After settling in the Southern Highlands five years ago, she is proud to bring her advanced skills to the regional community, where improving access to high-quality imaging is both important and deeply rewarding to her.

She has a particular interest in women’s health, pregnancy care and paediatrics, and is known for her calm, supportive approach during what can be significant and emotional moments for patients. Louise genuinely loves her work, and this shows in the care, clarity, and compassion she brings to every scan.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys being part of the Southern Highlands community and appreciates the opportunity to contribute her expertise to a region she and her family call home.

Tamica

Sonographer

Tamica is a local to the Southern Highlands, having grown up on a small farm in Robertson and completed her schooling in Bowral. Her interest in ultrasound developed from a curiosity about how the human body functions, as well as a desire to contribute to high-quality diagnostic care.

Tamica has a keen interest in improving the patient experience, helping patients feel heard, and working with each person to achieve the best possible outcomes for their health.

Her professional interests include gynaecological and endometriosis imaging, obstetrics, and breast ultrasound. Outside of work, Tamica enjoys spending time outdoors and with her animals.

Radiographers

Elaine

Senior Radiographer — Mammography

Elaine is originally from Ireland, where she completed her Bachelor of Diagnostic Radiography at University College Dublin. After graduating, she spent three years working at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin before moving to Scotland to further her studies, completing a Master’s degree in Information and Administrative Management. During her time in the UK, she also gained valuable experience working in several NHS hospitals, including the Western Infirmary in Glasgow.

In search of bluer skies and new opportunities, Elaine moved to Australia, where she worked as a senior radiographer at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for over 10 years. She has extensive experience in breast imaging and interventional breast procedures, including vacuum-assisted biopsies, needle localisations for surgical planning, and post-surgical breast imaging.

Elaine moved to the Southern Highlands in 2019 and has since worked in breast imaging in private practice as well as with BreastScreen NSW. In 2025, she began a Postgraduate Diploma in Mammography through the University of South Australia, continuing to build on her expertise in the field.

Reception

Janine

Medical Receptionist

Janine is a medical receptionist who takes pride in her work and genuinely enjoys helping people. She works closely with a great team to ensure patients feel welcomed, supported, and well cared for throughout their visit. As the first point of contact at Resonant Medical Imaging, she assists with appointment scheduling, patient enquiries, and administrative tasks, helping the clinic run smoothly.

Janine takes pride in creating a calm and friendly environment, understanding that medical appointments can sometimes feel overwhelming. She loves working at Resonant Medical Imaging because of the supportive team culture and the opportunity to make a positive difference in patients’ experiences.

Laura

Medical Receptionist

Laura has over 11 years of experience in radiology reception and takes pride in providing excellent support and care to patients and staff alike. Having lived in the beautiful Southern Highlands for most of her life, she values the sense of community and connection that comes with working in a local healthcare environment.

Laura enjoys being part of the wonderful team and contributing to a friendly, professional, and patient-focused atmosphere every day.

Muffin

The official practice puppy dog

She is mostly confined to the radiology reporting area but knows how to open the door and escape to the sonographer write-up area, reception, waiting room and tea-room.

Muffin was born in Marulan to a first generation labradoodle mother and an insatiable white poodle father. She’s allowed into the practice as an assistance dog but actually lacks any training and patient skills beyond cute and entertaining.
